While I haven’t been able to finish as much as I would have liked to have done on my website, progress is being steadily made and I remain hopeful that I will be able to complete it soon. However the good news I refer to is that my emails seems to have paid off. I received my second response yesterday and I will be following up on my first response shortly hereafter.
Tomorrow I hope to continue working on my website to flesh out and complete some of the less integral portions of my website. As always, I encourage you all to take a look at what I have to offer and offer any advice you may have for me. Also, I plan to continue sending emails to other website owners to provide the back end services necessary, but often expensive to perform, at lower costs. Optimistically, I will have several more responses, but realistically, I will be happy with one reply for every dozen or so emails I send.
Wish me luck. Until tomorrow.

I’ve been pretty busy trying to catch up with all of the work I could have been doing and trying to remember all of the documents I lost and taking a look at what I could recover. I have also been doing some more work on my website, which I luckily had enough forethought to save to a flashdrive. I hope to get it finished soon. Wish me luck!

Hello. I know I haven’t been blogging regularly lately. Part of that has to do with the fact that I have had a remarkably bad streak of luck in regards to technology; it seems like laptops have been breaking left and right. Hopefully though, my luck has changed. My backup laptop has been reformated and rebooted. I have spent much of today reinstalling all of my necessary applications and finishing all of the updates I needed to download from the Microsoft website. What was most annoying though was that for some reason the system refused to let me install the necessary program for my LAN to function properly. Luckily though, after a few tries I was able to install the wireless connection driver and get me access to the internet. However I think the LAN is still malfunctioning so if anyone could give me any hints as to why I would be very grateful.
After I managed to get the computer working properly at last, I was able to catch up on some of the work I have been unable to do. As I mentioned last time, I have begun contacting some other internet start up companies to offer my company’s service as low cost independent contractors providing high quality and quick photo editing. In regards to this endeavor, I have met with decidely less luck than I would have hoped for. I realize that I have to be patient, but I think some of the problem comes from the wording and presentation of my email. Thus, I spent some time today drafting up a basic email template that covers the information and messages I wanted to communicate. Also, I tried to get back into finishing what are the last few steps of completing my website, but wasn’t able to quite finish as much as I had expected. I will be getting back to that first thing tomorrow.

It seems like recently I have just had terrible luck with computers, laptops in general. Not only did my original laptop crash inexplicably and seems to have no hop of being recovered, but also the laptop I was using temporarily somehow acquired a terrible case of viruses, necessiating a complete system reboot. The problem then becomes that the XP Professional CD has become corrupted and is missing a critical file. Now the problem becomes trying to find someone with a viable CD. Until then, I am sharing a laptop with one of my colleagues and using my family’s laptop when everyone else is asleep. It is a good thing then that I am a bit of a night owl in the first place. Until I can find a XP CD, I find myself unable to continue my work on my website. For now, I am attempting to contact different companies to offer my company’s services as a independent contractor, something possible because of our innovative, low cost production system. I am of course hoping to post again soon, but that might not be possible depending on my schedule.

Here in California, the fourth of July festivities are being wrapped up. I’ve just returned from watching the public fireworks display at a nearby park. I would have to say that while I always enjoy seeing the aerial flashing lights especially with my friends, it is not something I would find especially moving. However this year, for some reason, I found that the show nearly brought tears to my eyes. I find that even if the fireworks were better arranged this year than years previous, it was the backdrop upon which this holiday was celebrated that brought it all together. It was a touching reminder of what the American dream truly is about. Though the economy continues to present a dreary and depressing picture, especially in CA and the threats of N. Korea loom over the horizon, the view of the fireworks brought home the beauty of America. It truly shows how Americans can come together and how beautiful the American Spirit is. This was a potent reminder that we are all citizens of America and that as long as we stand united, we can weather any storm.
On another note, I have begun to try and form business partnerships with other companies and studios to offer our services, in things such as photo editing and photo albums, to them to help supplement their products and provide a greater range of services to their costumers. If you are interested in any of our products or services feel free to contact me at syq@syqart.com.
At the same time I am also progressing with my website even though I think most of the critical elements are now in working condition. Please take a look at my website and tell me of any errors. www.syqart.com. Thank you.

Well, I’ve been taking a little of a break from my website while I’ve been trying to take care of some personal issues. Now that they’re mostly resolved, I’m free to dedicate my time to finishing up my website again. On the plus side, I’ve finally received my logo and the flash animation that goes on the top of all of my pages. Please take a look and tell me what you think. I hope to have some more finished by this time tomorrow. Thank you.

Hey good news guys. I finally got my website up tonight. Of course it’s still not complete however it should be functional. I would really appreciate if all of you could take a look at it and tell me what you think and if all of the “mostly” complete pages are in working order. I think that the major parts of my website should be able to function. My business ordering system should be mostly functional especially since it doesn’t require much coding. As you should know by now, my Internet start up will be selling high quality and affordable fine art products such as personalized flush mount photo albums, custom portraits in oil and Giclee prints.
As before I would have to say that Yahoo Site Builder continues to be fairly easy to use and functional especially with some of their pre-built forms, which are a great help to a beginning website design. However some aspects of it are really frustrating because the results they provide are not as consistent as I would wish, unlike what I would have found in a higher class, but more difficult website design system. All in all, I think it was a good choice to make.

As you all know, these few days I’ve been busy working on my website. Unfortunately due to unforeseen setbacks and through my unfamiliarity with the Yahoo Site Builder system, regardless of all of the basic tutorials, the progress hasn’t been as fast as I would wish for it to be. Right now I have my basic template created and laid out for each of the pages I plan to have in my website. A friend of mine has offered to create a logo for my website, SYQ’s ART, something I’m really grateful for. Right now, I’m getting started planning out what I want to say about each of my products and the company in general. In a bit I’ll be able to begin typing out the content so I can begin to bring parts of my website online.

Well, I finally have the basic layout of my website laid down, with the pages roughly outlined with a navigation bar, background, header and things of that nature, Of course, this was only possible through copious amounts of step by step assistance from one of my friends. Now all that is left is to continue filling each page with the information that I had previously lost. It is my hope that after having typed most of it once, it will be much easier this time around. I’m going to get back to work now.

Well, I’ve run into a spot of trouble; actually, it’s more than a little. My laptop just crashed for the fourth time since this year started and since I can’t access any of my data or my work, I just have to settle for a clean start. It’s not all just downsides though. I think I will take this opportunity to start from scratch; instead of sticking with a simple template format like those provided by the Yahoo Site Builder, as convenient as they may be, one of my peers recommended that I start from scratch for the benefit of the additional flexibility that affords me.
I’m working on it now with a laptop borrowed from a friend and I hope to have it up in a couple of days. I’ll keep all of you updated. Another spot of bad news? I forgot my password for this account. Had to go back and reset everything; that’s what happens when you rely on your computer to remember.
